A home design that is extraordinary as a beacon of light in the mountains at dusk. This house was designed by the architect Cadaval & Sola-Morales was set up between the top of the primitive. Perched on a steep hillside overlooking the Spanish Pyrenees, the house stone exterior is characteristic for its steeply pitched roof, which flavors the exterior and interior with its unique shape. The home’s facade is a combination of traditional “dry stone” and large expanses of slate-colored shingled roof, contrasted by a modern glass wall on the gabled side overlooking the valley below. On the mountain side, the roof boasts a row of windows that offer views of the mountaintops. Open-concept interiors feature a modern, minimalist palette that lets you focus on the home’s unusual shape and its equally extraordinary views.

This is a modern home design but still carry the rural atmosphere in structuring the environment. Kowalewski Residence designed by Belmont Freeman Architects in Atlantic Beach, New York. Kowalewski’s residence is a clear attempt to insert a modern house in the village context in a way that respects the scale and architectural traditions of the community. The house is not good or a lot of bulk to maximize the coverage allowed by zoning. It is oriented with a narrow face – only slightly wider than the home of former parking lot – into the street, with traditional side driveway and rear garage.
Modern House Design Into the Village Context
The ground floor has an open plan for living a relaxed and maximum connection to the outdoors. The second floor hallway with skylights continue to cause four bedrooms and three bathrooms. A sun room / guest suite on the third floor opens onto a large roof terrace with panoramic views of the island and the ocean. The structure is steel, with light-gauge metal framed floors and walls and energy-efficient EIS envelope. Principal exterior materials are stucco, black slate, stainless steel and glass. The steel and wood stair floats in a tower glazed in shingled panels of frosted glass, like an over-scaled jalousie window.
